3 Columbia organizations receive $23,000 from The Columbia Foundation.
Grant will help continue the mission of the organizations.
July 11, 2014, Columbia, MO – 3 Columbia organizations will receive a grant in the total amount of $23,000 from The Columbia Foundation. The selected organizations are Great Circle of Columbia, Voluntary Action Center, and Saving Sight.
The grant will help in continuing the mission and development of the organizations, allowing them to serve the city of Columbia in children and family services, prevention of child neglect and abuse, and vision screenings at 45 Boone County childcare facilities this year.
According to Alfredo Mubarah, Executive Director of The Columbia Foundation, “we are glad to support projects that might not otherwise be possible. These organizations are essential in Columbia, providing their clients with dignified options in times of adversity.”
Grant recipients will be honored with a reception at Columbia Safety’s offices, at 1801 Westfall Drive, on July 25th, at 11AM. During the reception, the Foundation will also announce one scholarship recipient for the amount of $2,500.
Grant recipients were selected as part of a grant process by The Columbia Foundation, with funds from Columbia Safety. Several other applicants will be selected for further grants throughout the remainder of 2014.
The Columbia Foundation was established in 2013 to support children’s causes, education and the arts in Boone County. The Foundation is powered by Columbia Safety and Industrial Supply.
